Ahoy. Stephanie is hoping to get her drone working to take a picture of the racing sail boat as it completes their sail around the world adventure.
We start at the finish line build. It's a simple stand on a 6 x 6 round plate. The clock is showing 81 days 41 hours 31 minutes 37 seconds; almost Around the World in 80 Days. The use of the black Technic knob gear to make the drone is clever.
Next we lay down the hull. The yellowish green 8 x 12 fuselage bottom and 8 x 8 x 2 inverted curved slope are new and exclusive to this set at the time of writing. Curve piece of the bow is clipped on by the brown "shield".
The tan 6 x 4 wedge plates are new and only in this set.
Bag #1 finished. We see the popular Brickheadz 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 bricks with studs on the side used for the boat's hull. The lavender 1 x 2 x 1 curved slope is new and in one other set. There are few extra pieces.
Steering into bag #2. The stern is taking shape. We get a new white 2 x 2 flag piece for the rudder. It is available in one other set.
Completing bag #2, we have the sides of the hull and a gallery at the stern. The coral 3 x 2 wedge plates are new and in one other set. A few extra pieces remains.
Bag #3 is the last bag. We work on the top of the deck. The dark brown mast is available in two other sets.
The plastic sail pieces are new and only in this set. We are now ready to sail across the finish line. Bag #3 has more extra pieces.
Let's take a look at the spiffy lavender uniformed crew. Stephanie's coral ball cap with ponytail is new and only in this set. Her torso and legs are also new and only in this set.
Captain Maxine is new character. Her coral ball cap with ponytail, head, and torso are new and only in this set. Her pants and boots are the same as Stephanie's.
Elijah is also a new character for 2022. His head can be found in 3 other sets. His torso is unique to this set. His pants and boots are also the same as Stephanie's.
The front of the box front shows the boat sailing into port with other sailboats in the distance.
The back of the box shows the play features and the crew posing in their lavender team uniforms.
The sticker sheet has 13 stickers. There is one on how to tie a bowline knot. It actually works if you take a piece of rope and follow the steps. Neat.
Summary:
With a gentle cool ocean breeze this 7+ set is easy building. There aren't any rough seas in the building instructions. It's enjoyable smooth sailing through the 3 bags of parts. There are unique parts like the plastic sail pieces. The lavender uniformed crew is new and unique to the set. There is even a little knot tying lesson in the stickers. Overall, it's fun to build, play, and display with other Friends ships.
Oh blimey, the sea gulls photo-bomb the photo-finish.
